treats

Today I spent a fair bit of time at the Victoria Quilters guild show. I could breath quilts all day long. Amazing work and great vendors with too many tempting things.

From the Button Lady I  found some cute additions for my Guild Name tag

And I had time to sew them on while I sat at our Modern quilt Guild table and promoted the guild!

I also splurged on a lovely bundle of fabric with stenciled words, and 2 great fat quarters that I picked up 2 different times, and on the 3rd time decided I had better just buy them.  All of the fabric is from Hamels Fabric in Chilliwack.

I can’t wait to bust into this stuff, but MUST FINISH another project before starting something new!

I also got this cute chickadee pincushion from the West Shore Quilt Guild table.

tiny colour

There is so much big bold colour outside right now! From an amazing rainbow of blooming plants and trees to fresh cut spring grass to the gorgeous light of a spring sunset.

I am working on observing the big and little moments and being present in the moment. Part of that is seeing the little things too.

DSC03283My relatively new Echeveria has  produced some very tiny orange/yellow blooms. So delicate, petite, and pretty.

Doing this blog makes me look around at all those things in my world that please me and brighten my days.  Thanks for letting me share with you.

messy

Quilts come together and usually look very neat and tidy.

But the creative process can get very messy, especially if you don’t tend to use patterns and just tend to wing it as the fabric inspires you. Yup, that’s me.

Although this isn’t so bad on screen.  When I took the photo, I also had squares on the floor and ironing board, and more fabric and pins and thread around my sewing machine on the dining room table beside me! Loving how this curvy quilt is progressing, can’t wait to show it off when it is a full quilt top.
